Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Use of Electronic Medical Records for Outpatient Services

Abstract

The effectiveness of the use of Electronic Medical Records (RME) plays an important role in improving the quality of outpatient services. At the BLUD of Baubau City Hospital, obstacles are still found in the form of unstable networks and system downtime that can affect the smooth running of services. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of RME in outpatient services from the aspects of tasks/functions, plans/programs, provisions/regulations, and ideal goals/conditions. The research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive approach and a cross-sectional design. The population is 60 people with a sample of 38 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed univariately. The results showed an average value of effectiveness in the task/function aspect of 90.45%, plan/program 88.4%, provisions/regulations 87.98%, and ideal objectives/conditions 88.01%. All aspects are in the very good category. However, system disruptions in the form of errors or slow performance are still obstacles. In conclusion, the use of RME in outpatient services at the BLUD of Baubau City Hospital has gone very well and is able to support the effectiveness of health services.

At BLUD RSUD Kota Baubau, unstable network connections and system downtime were still identified as obstacles that could affect service continuity. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of EMR utilization in outpatient services based on task/function, planning/program, regulations/policies, and goals/ideal conditions. A quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional design was used. The population consisted of 60 people, with 38 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed average effectiveness scores of 90.45% for task/function, 88.4% for planning/program, 87.98% for regulations/policies, and 88.01% for goals/ideal conditions. All aspects were categorized as very good. However, occasional system disturbances, including errors and slow performance, remained a concern. The study concluded that EMR utilization in outpatient services at BLUD RSUD Kota Baubau had been implemented very well and supported healthcare service effectiveness.
