Abstract

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are an important component in providing health services because they generate digital data in continuously increasing amounts. The growth in data volume requires storage media capacity planning to ensure data availability remains guaranteed and health services can run continuously. This study aims to analyze the storage media capacity requirements for EMR over the next five years at BLUD RSUD Kabupaten Buton. The study uses a quantitative descriptive method with observation and documentation approaches. The analyzed data include the number of patient visits and the EMR storage volume for 2023-2026. Projections of storage capacity requirements are carried out using the Least Square method. The research results show that the number of patient visits in 2023 was 16.863 visits, in 2024 was 18.882 visits, in 2025 was 25.720 visits, while in 2026 was 4.927 visits up to March. The EMR data volume in 2023 was 21,4 GB, in 2024 was 23,7 GB, in 2025 was 25,9 GB, and in 2026 was 23,0 GB up to March, with a total usage of 94,0 GB. The projection results indicate storage requirements of 25,25 GB in 2027, 25,95 GB in 2028, 26,65 GB in 2029, 27,35 GB in 2030, and 28,05 GB in 2031. Thus, the accumulated projected storage requirement through 2031 reaches 227,25 GB. Hospitals need to periodically monitor capacity, provide backup systems, and gradually develop storage capacity according to data growth.
