Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in the Candi Village, Candisari District, Semarang City, which involved actualizing the role of paralegals in the legal counseling agenda for students of the Cinde Semarang Vocational High School, free legal consultations for the community, and drafting of lease agreements requested by Cinde residents. This program aims to increase legal understanding among students and the local community, while providing them with access to free legal services. Through this approach, it is hoped that the community, especially residents of Candi Village, can better understand their rights and obligations in various aspects of daily life, especially those related to the law. This activity consists of three main components. The results of this activity indicate an increase in legal awareness among the community and students in Candi Village. Students involved in the legal counseling showed high interest and enthusiasm in understanding the material presented, which is expected to contribute to the formation of a younger generation that is more concerned with the law. In addition, the community also felt helped by the free legal consultation service that gave them access to clear and accurate legal information. Many of them expressed that this activity opened their eyes to rights and obligations that they may not have previously known. The activity of drafting lease agreements also received a positive response from residents, as they felt safer and more protected in carrying out lease agreements with a valid agreement. The involvement of paralegals in providing legal counseling and legal consultation services can be a solution to address the gap in legal access, especially in areas far from formal legal service centers. Therefore, this program can be used as a model for community empowerment that prioritizes the dissemination of legal information that is easy to understand and affordable for all groups. Going forward, it is hoped that similar activities can continue and be expanded to other areas in need.
