Abstract

Turus Hamlet, Banjarejo Village, Ngantang District, has high agricultural potential, but still faces challenges in managing household and agricultural organic waste. Suboptimal management causes pollution and environmental degradation. This Thematic Community Service Program (PM-T) aims to educate the community about organic waste processing through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot larvae as waste decomposing agents. This activity involves lecturers and students from the Agrotechnology Study Program at Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University, targeting residents of Turus Hamlet. The implementation method includes site surveys, audiences, maggot nest construction, cultivation training, organic waste management, and socialization of activity results. The program results show that BSF maggots are able to decompose waste efficiently and produce compost (kasgot) which is useful as an organic fertilizer. The final socialization that displays the tangible results of the program strengthens the understanding and interest of residents to apply this technology independently. This program has a positive impact in increasing environmental awareness and opening up economic opportunities from maggot derivative products.
